John Escamilla

Education

  • J.D., The University of Texas School of Law, 1995
  • B.A., The University of Texas at Austin, 1991

Escamilla Law Firm PLLC diligently represents individuals, families, and businesses that have been harmed by the wrongful conduct of others.  John Escamilla has spent more than 20 years fighting for families and businesses in courts throughout Texas, always guided by a strong desire for justice. He works hard to ensure that the party that caused your injury is held accountable for their actions.

John Escamilla has taken cases all the way up to the Supreme Court of Texas, and to the Supreme Court of New Mexico. He’ll fight from the beginning to the end for his clients.

In New Mexico, he helped change the law as the result of a triple fatality case involving a vehicle that crashed into a building. He fought that case up all the way to the Supreme Court of New Mexico and was able to get a favorable judgment that changed the state law determining that a business should be responsible for foreseeable hazards. He convinced the court to articulate a new standard of safety. Escamilla helped his clients in that particular case, but also made a difference for everyone in that state.

He has had similar successes in Texas, making a difference in the workplace. He holds wrongdoers accountable for their actions. Even though he can’t undo the injury that’s been caused to his clients, he can prevent future injuries from happening by demanding the business changes their practices.

One of the best things about being a lawyer, according to John Escamilla, is getting compensation for your client, but also changing practices and making that place safer for other people down the road.
